Born on April 16, 1984, British actress Claire Elizabeth Foy is best known for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in the historical drama series ‘The Crown’ which is based on the reign of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. After graduating from the Liverpool John Moores University, Foy was trained at Oxford School of Drama, where she appeared in the plays ‘Top Girls,’ ‘Watership Down’ ‘Easy Virtue’ and ‘Touched.’ She made her theater debut with the acts ‘DNA’ and ‘The Miracle’ at the Royal National Theater in London. She gained prominence with the BBC series ‘Little Dorrit’ (2008), which was based on the Charles Dickens novel of the same name. She was the protagonist in the series and later earned an RTS Award nomination. Between 2008 and 2021, Foy appeared in more than 15 TV shows. She made her film debut with the 2011 movie ‘Season of the Witch,’ as the character “Anna.” As of 2021, she has made an appearance in more than 10 movies. As of 2021, Foy has received two Primetime Emmy Awards, one Golden Globe Award, and two Screen Actors Awards, amongst others. She married English actor Stephen Campbell Moore in 2014 and the couple has a daughter. However, the duo announced separation in February 2018.
